Talk about a win-win, in this episode Susan Thompson, Program Director for Engineering & STEM Initiatives at Houston Community College (HCC) shares with our host, JoAnn Meyer, how partnering with other institutions of higher learning benefits students AND the companies that hire them. HCC partners with Texas A&M, University of Texas – Tyler and University of Houston to provide more flexible and affordable pathways for their very diverse student body to earn an engineering degree. Susan shares how HCC partnered and collaborated with universities across the country to build their MakerSpace and how that has delivered unexpected benefits of developing competencies that are highly sought after by companies today.
