Today we speak to community leader and all-around Houstonian star, Frances Castañeda Dyess. We chat about the recent Apple Manufacturing facility announcement, the best food in Houston, why “tariffs” shouldn’t be a scary word to the Houston Ports, port job opportunities and education, and my favorite thing in the whole universe, the Houston Rodeo BBQ Cook-off. 

Bio

Frances Castañeda Dyess is a native Houstonian and a dedicated connector of individuals and businesses, driven by her passion for community and the belief that businesses are essential engines of economic progress. Since becoming President of the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce in 2010, Ms. Castañeda Dyess has spearheaded significant growth in both Chamber membership and operating revenue, enhancing the economic presence and influence of this vital area adjacent to downtown Houston. Most recently, as of January 13th Ms. Dyess recently was appointed the chair of the board for the Board of Pilot Commissioners for Harris County Ports, providing leadership and oversight of the Houston Pilots.
